About the Artists

Sophie Drouin, an award-winning mosaic artist, invigorates a timeless medium with her contemporary interpretations.

Julie Krahule is a horticultural therapist and landscape designer. She uses preserved botanicals, metal, and natural plant material to inspire, respond to, and complete collaborative pieces.  Much of her work is inspired by the poetry of her uncle, Maironis.

Joanne Makulski finds inspiration in language and in the mythology behind the literal and figurative masks that people wear. This time, her illustrations in clay are joined by papier maché and paint.

Norma McDonald is an award-winning painter. In the spirit of the collaborative nature of Carnival, her encaustic works are accompanied by her exploration of traditional maskmaking .
