A Dynamic Collective of Local Artists

Shows at UpTown Gallery

Featuring Adam Gagnon and other UpTown Gallery Artists

January 23rd to March 16th, 2013

Architectonic is a multi-disciplinary show of artwork with architectural references by artists Sophie Drouin, Adam Gagnon, Mary Lou Hiller, Deborah Pryce, William Mullin and Laurie Spieker. The architectural forms depicted become sculptural in various light conditions. Each artist interprets their subject uniquely to create a mood, suggest a story, and place the viewer into a specific time in a day, the seasons and history.

About the Artists

Sophie Drouin transforms the traditional technique of mosaic art with the introduction of unconventional materials.

Adam Gagnon is a globe-trotting photographer and recognized photojournalist.

Mary Lou Hiller creates paintings with exceptional clarity and colour. She paints with watercolours and acrylics.

Deborah Pryce combines her painting skills with her experience creating architectural drawings in her artwork for this show.

William Mullin works exclusively in oils. His paintings have great luminosity resulting from the application of multiple transparent glazes.

Laurie Spieker is an award-winning contemporary glass artist. She works with fused glass and stained glass.
