A Dynamic Collective of Local Artists

A Dynamic Collective of Local Artists

Complexity is a new exhibition at UpTown Gallery featuring recent works by Christine Gagnon, Anna Siren, and Adrienne Zoe.

The show runs from March 19 to May 12. Join us at the opening reception on Thursday March 21 from 6-8 pm to enjoy the artwork and meet the artists. Refreshments will be served.

Christine Gagnon: Christine Gagnon creates one of a kind and limited series precious metal and gemstone jewelry.  In this collection of miniature wearable works of art, the complex worlds found in intricately patterned stones are showcased and juxtaposed with clean designs in metal inspired by the art and culture of ancient Greece and Rome.

Anna Siren: Anna Siren is fascinated by abstract art, it keeps her wondering and it inspires her constantly. She uses fabric and thread to create a story.  She never quite knows how a finished piece will look, as she lets her creative spirit guide her. She believes there is no one true interpretation, but many.

Adrienne Zoe: Adrienne Zoe enjoys creative photography and giving her subjects an artistic twist. For this show, Adrienne has chosen a set of four images: Trinity, Watchful, Kaleidoscope of His and Hers, and Dahlia Dazzle.  Each of them has undergone some kind of transformation. Techniques she has employed include in-camera multiple exposure, colour manipulation, and image layering.  This set of images earned Adrienne the Bronze Medal for third highest overall submission at the 2018 Canadian Association of Photographic Arts (CAPA) Fine Art Competition. Furthermore, Dahlia Dazzle, received 3rd Merit for tying for second highest scoring image.
